Trauma can sometimes be one big traumatic event, or decades of chronic trauma, or a short period of sporadic traumas. But whatever it is, it can hold you back and keep you rooted in the past.

It’s time to move on.

I am qualified in Rewind Trauma Treatment which is a highly effective, non-intrusive method for addressing trauma and PTSD, offering lasting relief without requiring clients to disclose distressing details of their experiences. This approach is particularly valuable as it reduces the risk of re-traumatization while allowing you to process and neutralise traumatic memories in a safe, controlled manner.

RTT is an evidence-based approach and is supported by extensive research. It has been adopted by leading institutions and trauma centres across the UK due to its proven ability to provide rapid, lasting relief. For more details, visit the International Association for Rewind Trauma Therapy.

Trauma lives in our bodies as well as our minds and I am also trained in somatic trauma approaches focusing on the connection between mind and body in healing trauma. These methods recognize that traumatic experiences often leave physical imprints that words alone cannot address.

Pioneered by Dr. Peter Levine, somatic trauma therapy works by addressing the impact of trauma on the nervous system, helping to restore balance and regulate stress responses. By gently guiding individuals to release trapped energy and tension, somatic practices support the natural healing processes of the autonomic nervous system, creating a sense of safety in both body and mind.

Matilda was exiting a long standing abusive relationship and so was coping with the day to day struggles of navigating a break up along with a history of decades of chronic trauma.

We worked on coping techniques and strategies for the now, building up a strong relationship of trust and safety to enable us to begin working through her complex trauma together. Matilda has learnt that her strength was always there inside her, and that no-one could take that away from her.

STRUCTURED RELATIONSHIP INTERVENTION

Together we will repair and recharge your relationship over a period of six months intensive work. We will meet for one hour of couples therapy each week, and have set work and goals to achieve between sessions. 

This programme systematically works through 10 key elements of your relationship, including understanding and repairing your approach to:

  • Communication

  • Sexual Intimacy

  • Conflict Resolution

And much more.

At the end of the six months, you will have a fuller and deeper understanding of your strengths as a couple, have clear techniques to improve any weaknesses and have a firm plan for your future together.

ONGOING RELATIONSHIP SUPPORT SESSIONS

Do you feel that you and your partner need a safe place each week to support the challenges in your relationship? Together we will explore what issues have come up for you during the week and provide a safe arena to learn strong communication skills to work through potential conflicts in a way that ensures you both feel truly heard and understood.

My 90 minute sessions can be paid as you need them so can work as weekly support or as one off sessions to get you through a temporary rocky patch.

Andy knew his relationship wasn’t working but no matter what he tried, he felt as though he could never get it right. He was days from giving up on a decades long marriage when he came to me for coaching.
